Anna Kontur

Geboren 1946 in Lambach in Oberösterreich;
im Lehrberuf tätig.

Schon seit langem Interesse an und Beschäftigung mit verschiedensten künstlerischen Techniken, in den letzten Jahren vor allem mit Acrylmalerei Seit 1989 Mitglied der Malgruppe 88 in Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting. Teilnahme an einem Seminar der ABC-ART-AKADEMIE unter der Leitung von Prof. Wolfgang Wiesinger, an den Internationalen Malerwochen in Hollersbach, Klasse Peter Mairinger, und an Malseminaren bei Mag. art. Prof. August Svoboda und Dir. Karlheinz Schönswetter.

Seit 1989 Teilnahme an verschiedenen Gruppenausstellungen, sowie Einzelausstellungen.

„Die Arbeiten auf Leinwand, das Übereinanderlagern verschiedener Farbtöne und Farbflächen, der Einsatz von grafischen Elementen, das Herausarbeiten von Strukturen fasziniert mich. Kräftige, warme Farben, vor allem verschiedene Rottöne und reduzierte, abstrahierte Formen bedeuten für mich Energie, Aktivität, Wärme und Erdverbundenheit, Leidenschaft, Mut.

Malen ist für mich ein kreativer Akt, in dem zwei Prinzipien zusammenwirken: einerseits der bewusste Einsatz von Farben und Formen als Mittel zum künstlerischen Ziel, andererseits die Hingabe an das Unbewusste, das Schöpfen aus dem Inneren, das Platz für Intuitives und Losgelassenes schafft.

Eine besondere Faszination übt auf mich das Aktzeichnen aus – dieser Einfluss  ist auch in den abstrakten Bildern immer wieder spürbar.“

I have worked  with various media  and techniques, before settling into a period of intense work and study with acrylic painting and mediums.

Since 1989 member of the „Malgruppe 88“ in Bad Wimsbach, Upper Austria

Participation in the ABC-Art-Academy under Prof. Wolfgang Wiesinger, in the  International painting workshop in Hollersbach under the instruction of  Peter Mairinger and in artseminars directed by Mag. art. Prof. August  Svoboda and Dir. Karlheinz Schönswetter.

Since 1989 participation in several groupshows as well as one-woman-exhibitions.

“At the moment I am facinated by several elements and processes, chief among which are the overlapping and juxtaposition of different colortones and surfaces, the use of line elements, and the building up of textural surfaces through heavy paint application. Powerful, warm colors, with an emphasis on reddish tones, as well as reduced abstract forms convey a sense of energy, activity, warmth and earthiness, passion, courage.

For me painting is a creative activity that utilizes two different principles, forcing them to act with and react to each other: on the one hand is the artist’s use of color and form as a means to an artistic end; on the other is the artistic’s abandon to the  subconscious mind and spirit, that brings out things he or she had hidden deep inside, the fact that the painter relinquishes complete control in favor of the chance happening, the intuitive act. I was also intrigued by the my work in the area of drawing of the nude body, and this influence makes itself silently felt in my abstract pictures.”
