Belfast Blues Band
Ein musikalisches Topereignis fand am 17. Dezember in der Salzachhalle in Laufen statt. Wer kennt sie
nicht? Ihre Hits wie „It`s all over now, Baby Blue“, „Gloria“ oder
„Baby, please dont go“, ...... Mit Van Morrison als Sänger erlangten sie in den 60-er Jahren Weltruhm, doch auch heute noch ist die Band um Eric Wrixon (auch Mitbegründer von Thin Lizzy) und Jim Armstrong (einst neben Hendrix und Clapton zum drittbesten Stromgitarrenzupfer gekürt) in der Welt des Blues-Rock eine Klasse für sich. Auf ihrer „Cry for Me“-Tournee sind die Kultmusiker derzeit in der ganzen Welt, so auch in Deutschland und Österreich unterwegs. Wie eh und je bestechen sie durch technische Brillianz und kreative Power, die das Publikum mitreißen. In ihrer sympatischen Art überzeugen sie auch menschlich. Und, obwohl nur knapp 80 (in Worten: achtzig) Musikliebhaber den Weg in die Salzachhalle fanden, spielte „THEM“ mit einer Hingabe wie bei überfüllten Großstadien. Der Blues liegt ihnen einfach im Blut und dies geht auf den Zuhörer nahtlos über. Selbst als bereits mehr als die Hälfte der Zuhörer am Ende den Saal verlassen hatten, gab’s noch volle 4 Draufgaben und die Fans kamen zu einem letzten Hörgenuß des ausklingenden Jahrtausends.

Belfast Blues Band A musical top event took place on 17
December in the Salzach hall in Laufen. Who does not know them? Hits like
„It’s all over now, Baby Blue“, „Gloria“ or „Baby, please
don’t go“,...... With Van Morrison as singer they became
world famous back in the sixties and even today the band around Eric
Wrixon (also co-founder of Thin Lizzy) and Jim Armstrong (former chosen as
the thirdbest E-guitar player beside Hendrix and Clapton) is in a class of
it’s own in the world of Blues Rock. Currently the legendary musicians are
touring around the world, also in Germany and Austria with their tour
called „Cry for me“. And as they did before they show technical
brilliance and creative power which drags along the audience. Beside this
they very pleasant and likeable people. And, although only about 80 (in words:
eighty) people found their way to the Salzach-hall in Laufen, THEM played
in such an engaged way as they are used to do in great halls. The Blues is
just in their blood and the audience feels it. Even as more than half of
the audience has left the hall after the end of their concert they played
4 additional songs – so the fans were lucky to enjoy their music at the
end of this century. |
