– 17. Oktober in Las Vegas, Showboat-Hotel, USA „Ah,
Austria. Walzer, Strauss, Mozart, Tyrol, Sachertorte – yes, i know“. Die
breiten Hüte nicken, die silbernen Gürtelschnallen werden zurechtgerückt,
die Stiefel spiegeln die Zufriedenheit darüber wieder, den Unterschied
zwischen Australien und Austria erkannt zu haben. Jetzt kommt ein neuer
Begriff dazu, der den Amerikanern den Unterschied ein für allemal klar
macht: Tina Rauch. Bekannt als Trucker-Lady-Tina. Sie hat als erste Europäerin
im Mutterland der Western- und Countrymusik alle heimischen Größen
hinter sich gelassen und den begehrten „American Eagle Award“ für die
beste Vocal-Group Amerikas erhalten. „Das ist, wie wenn ein Japaner
einen Jodelwettbewerb in der Schweiz gewinnt“, kommentierte ein Dänischer
Gast im Las Vegas Show-boat-Hotel, dem Austragungsort des Wettbewerbs, den
überraschenden Titel für die Trucker Lady aus Gänserndorf. Am
American Eagle Award darf nur teilnehmen, wer eine der Vorausscheidungen
in den 54 Bundesstaaten der USA gewonnen hat. Heuer durfte erstmals der
beste europäische Interpret mitmachen. Europa als ein Bundesstaat der
Staaten. Die Musik kennt keine Grenzen. Tina Rauch hatte den Europäischen
Bewerb klar für sich entschieden. Die
Wiege heimischer Countrymusik steht in Gänserndorf/NÖ Ist
es noch einigermassen einfach den Unterschied zwischen Australien und
Austria, zwischen Känguruh und Milka-Kuh zu erklären. Beim Heimatort der
Austria-Western-Lady ist vorbei: „How ist the name? Goostown?“ Fast
richtig. In Gänserndorf in NÖ, knapp 30 Kilometer östlich von Wien ist
Truckerlady Tina und ihre Country Time Special zu Hause. Seit 10 Jahren
tourt sie mit Westernsongs aller Kategorien (von Traditional bis New
Western und Gospel) durch Österreich und Europa. Vor einigen Jahren
gelang auch in den USA der Durchbruch. Mit dem Titel „Dreamin´ ´bout
America“ war sie einige Monate in den
Staaten Nr. 1 bei den Western-Charts. Zu diesem Titel ließ Tina
Rauch auch einen Videoclip anfertigen. Und der räumte ebenfalls in Las
Vegas gewaltig ab: „American Eagle Award - Video of the Year 1999“.

wurde das Video von der ebenfalls in Gänserndorf beheimtateten
Filmproduktion ATV (AudioTeleVideo) von Walter Hansy und Rudolf Stöger.
Beide waren in Las Vegas dabei, als zu ihrer eigenen Überraschung ihr
Film zum besten Country-Videoclip gekürt wurde. Den Amis gefielen die
Aufnahmen von den Oberweidener Sandbergen, einer mit Heidegras bewachsenen
Sanddünenlandschaft in der Nähe Gänserndorfs. Und an Pferden, Reitern
und Harley-Davidson Motorrädern mangelt es im Marchfeld auch nicht. Das
alles bestens ins Bild gesetzt, Kamera by Walter „Waschi“ Hansy,
organisiert vom energischen und unerbittlichen Aufnahmeleiter Rudi Stöger,
dazu die tolle Musik der Trucker Lady. Die
Zeit in den Wettbewerbspausen wurde für Aufnahmen zu einem neuen
Videoclip genützt. Schauplatz waren der Red Rock Canyon, die Westernstadt
„Old Nevada“ und der beim Hoover-Damm aufgestaute Colorado-River. In
Las Vegas selbst scheiterte das Kamerateam immer wieder an der
stadteigenen „Security“, einer Polizeitruppe, die ständig für die
Filmerei Geld und Genehmigungen wollte. Ein Erdbeben erschütterte
Las Vegas
Dem
musikalischen Erdbeben, dem Erfolg der Austria-Lady, folgte eine
naturgewaltige Antwort. Vor dem letzten Tag der Ausscheidung bebte die
Erde wirklich, und zwar genau zwischen Los Angeles und Las Vegas. Stärke
7. „Zum Glück sind die Gebäude in der Spielerstadt sicher gebaut.
Nichts ist passiert, außer einer gewaltigen Schaukelei im Bett, um drei
Uhr früh Ortszeit. Das Beben in der Türkei, das tausende Todesopfer
gefordert hatte, war nach der Richter-Skala schwächer“, erinnern sich
die Videofilmer. Die Trucker-Lady wackelte im 15 Stock des Show-Boat. Die
Pendelbewegung des Hotelturmes war ca. 10-12 Meter weit. Westernlegende Bob
Wills Jr. „Tina muß auf große Showbühnen“
In
der Jury des Awards saß „Westernlegende“: Bob Wills Jr., 72 Jahre
alt. Sein Vater war „Der King des Westernswing“, er selbst ist
erfolgreicher Produzent, Interpret und Inhaber einer Radiostation. Er
brachte nach dem umjubelten Auftritt von Tina Rauch die Kritik und Wertung
auf den Punkt: „Warum sind sie hier. Sie brauchen keinen Wettbewerb
mehr. Sie sollten in einem der großen Show-Hotels in Las Vegas
auftreten“. Große Worte eines großen Western-Gurus. Tina Rauch kommt
vielleicht wieder nach Las Vegas. Aber sicher nicht mehr zum Wettbewerb,
sondern um auf einer der großen Showbühen den Amis zu zeigen, wo beste
„Traditional Country Music“ gemacht wird. In

"Ah,

The broad hats are shaking, the silver belt buckles are put in the correct
positions, the boots are shining and seem to say how satisfied they are to
know the difference between Australia and Austria. Now there is a new word
that makes all the Americans recognize the difference – Tina Rauch. She
is well known as Trucker-Lady-Tina. She is the first European lady that
has won the American Eagle Award in the home country of country and
western music. The "American Eagle Award" is for the best vocal
group Americas. It would be just like if a Japanese would win a
Jodel-contest in Switzerland. This is what a guest from Denmark said to
point out what a big success this is. The contest was held at the Las
Vegas Showboat Hotel. You
are only allowed to take part at the American Eagle Award if you have won
one of the Pre-contest in one of the 54 states in the USA. This year it
was the first time that an European interpreter was allowed to participate.
Europe as a state in the states. There are no borders in Music. Tina Rauch
has won the European contest. The
cradle of her country music is in Gänserndorf – lower Austria
It
is quite simple to explain the difference between Australia and Austria,
between a kangaroo and a Milka cow. But it is very difficult to explain
the home town of the Austrian Western Lady: How is the name? Goosetown?"
Nearly correct. In Gänserndorf in Lower Austria, about 30 km on the east
side of Vienna – that is the home town of the Trucker lady Tina and her
Country Time Special. Since 10 years she tours through Europe and Austria
with Western songs of all types (traditional as well as new Western and
Gospel). Some years ago her success in the USA began. With the title
"Dreamin' 'bout America" she has been No 1 vor some month in the
USA in the Western charts. There is also a Video clip for this title. It
was the best Clip this year and won the "American Eagle Award –
Video of the Year 1999". 2:0

The
Video Clip was produced in Gänserndorf too by the Film production ATV (AudioTeleVideo)
from Walter Hansy and Rudolf Stöger. Both have been present in Las Vegas
when saw that their Film was the best country Video Clip. The Americans
liked the pictures of the Oberweidener Sand Mountains, and the countryside
near Gänserndorf. And there are enough of horses, riders and
Harley-Davidsons in the Marchfeld. Camera was done by Walter "Waschi"
Hansy and production, organisation by Rudi Stöger and the fantastic music
by Trucker Lady.
An
earthquake in Las Vegas
There
was a musical earthquake – the success of the Austrian Lady
- and this was answered by a natural earthquake. It was the last
day of the contest when an earthquake happened exactly between Los Angeles
and Las Vegas. Strength no 7. For heavens sake the buildings in Las Vegas
are built secure. Nothing happened – just a terrible swinging in bed at
3:00 am local time. The earthquake in Turkey where thousands of people
died was not as strong as the one in Las Vegas. The Trucker-Lady was
swinging in the 15th floor of the Show-Boat. The swinging of
the hotel tower was about 10 to 12 meters. Legend
of Western Bob Wills Jr. "Tina must go on big show stages"
One
of the Jury members was legend Bob Wills Jr., 72 years old. His Father was
known to be "the king of Westernswing", and he himself is a very
successful producer, interpreter and has a radio station. His comments to
the success of Tina Rauch was: "Why are you
here. You don't need a contest anymore. You should be in one of the
big show-hotels of Las Vegas." Great words of a great Western-Guru.
Tin Rauch might come to Las Vegas again – but then she will not be there
for a contest but in one of the big show stages to show the Americans
where the best traditional country music is made. In good old Europe. In
